Reflections #5

Today in class, we went online and took a survey about our personality and learning style. The results I got were quite accurate. According to the survey, my personality code is ESFJ. It's interesting because It took a similar survey like this one, but instead I got ISTJ. ESFJ are people that are warm, friendly, and talkative (I'm not really talkative). I am enthusiastic and energetic person who loves to be with people. I have a close relationship with my friends and family. Apparently I'm sympathetic and caring and I like to help other. I am polite and trusting and try hard to please others and place my relationships high on my list of priorities (this is 100% true about me). I have strong values about how to behave. I tend to take all criticism personally so my feelings get easily hurt (this is also so true). I'm a practical person. I am organized and efficient.

I think for the most part, the description matches me pretty well. I'm not really talkative or energetic that much, but it's true that I'm very sensitive and practical!

Reflections #4

Today in class, we did this survey where we explored what occupation we may want to follow. After filling out tons of paperwork, my code was AES (artistic-enterprising-social). The top three jobs that I have the most interest in is an account executive, music director and interior designer. Other jobs (slightly different code) that I also have an interest is a producer, radio and T.V. and for motion pictures. According to the West-side Test Anxiety Scale, my test anxiety score is 3.3. I guess this score does represent me well.

Reflections #3

Today in class, we talked about talents and how they impact different people's lives. We read different scenarios of students about their opinions of what talents they had. We talked about career-planning fantasy and despair. How do we avoid these conditions? At the end of class, we ordered a whole list of values of its importance to us. To me, I felt that how I feel about myself is most important and having power is least important.

Reflections #2

In today's class, we talked mainly about careers. When I was asked what age people should start planning for their career, I answered that mentally, we should start preparing at around middle school, but physically getting prepared (applications/study abroad) should be around late high school, early college. We were also asked what factors we take in when choosing our career. Many people replied a job that is financially well-off and is something that we enjoy doing. I do agree with these two factors, but I think money is less important than our interests. We also talked about careers in a biblical way.

Reflections #1

Questions asked in class included what kind of choices we made when we were young and what kind of choices we make now. We came to the conclusion that the choices we make now are much more mature and thoughtful. We also answered questions such as if unbelievers make good choices or if believers always make good choices. I said that believes of God or not, we all make good and bad choices. We are all human. We also discussed Proverbs and listed choices God wants us to make, and choices that he doesn't want us to make.
